Finding help when you are Lonely.

Being alone is not the same as being lonely. Although being alone can lead to loneliness. To be alone is to be by yourself and many there be that desire this. When stuying the life of Christ one would think that He would be the lonliest person on Earth. Jesus would rise for prayer in the early hours of the morning alone with His Heavenly Father. Jesus was tested in the wilderness for 40 days and nights without human company. Jesus was alone in His march toward the cross at Calvary. While on the cross Jesus felt forsaken. But never at anytime did Jesus ever feel lonely.
Being lonely is a state of being that is more of a disconnection. It is possible to be lonely in a crowd of unsociables. When nobody wants to talk to you, you feel lonely, especially when there is no one to turn to in your time of need. You say within yourself...nobody understands and nobody cares. Yet you are not alone. Many sit for hours, days, weeks, months and years in the home for the old and broken down, waiting for someone to pay them a visit. Even though friendly qualified personnel handle them with care, they are still lonely for a family visitation.
Connection is the difference. Human beings were created to be social creatures. It is not good for man to be alone.[ Genesis 2:18 ] God saw that Adam was lonely yet not alone. Even though Adam had frolicked with the animals of the garden, there was a disconnection. He could not really relate to the creatures of the Garden of Eden. All the other animals had a mate except Adam. The daily ritual between the animal species was carefully observed and understood by Adam. Omniscience observed and provided. Adam and his wife, in the cool of the day they would meet and walk together in perfect communion with Omnipresence. The communication that went on between them was like a symphony in perfect harmony orchestrated by the great conductor of the universe. Now that was connection.
Disconnection caused a sour note in the performance until the seed of the woman appeared to crush the serpant’s head and redeem those who were under the law. [Genesis 3:15, Galatians 4:4 - 5 ] The omniscience of God provided a way for reconnection with Him through His only begotten Son Jesus Christ. [ 2 Corinthians 5:17 - 19 ] Our connection with God is through His Son Jesus Christ. If you have no connection with Jesus Christ you are disconnected from God and will be lonely throughout eternity. When you see Jesus Christ as the only begotten Son of God, you know you are rightly related with Him. The best way to get to know Him is through His word, the Bible. The best way to understand what the Bible is saying is through prayer. Continually, quietly, humbly ask Him to reveal Himself through His word. You will be amazed by how rapidly He reveals Himself to those who seek Him with a humble heart.[ Hebrews 11:6, 1 Peter 5:6 -7 ] You will also be amazed at how quickly you will grow Spiritually through obedience to His word. It’s not a good thing to be a hearer of God’s word without being a doer also. Each act of obedience is a growth spurt. When your life is hid with Christ in God there will be no room for loneliness. Even though you may think that all have forsaken you. We have His great and precious promises that He is our shepherd and He will never leave us or forsake us. [ Psalm 23, Hebrews 13:5 - 6 ]
If you are feeling lonely, the best remedy is to get your eyes off yourself and focus on the author and perfecter of your faith. Loneliness is not listed as a fruit of the Spirit. [ Galatians 5:22 ] The fruit of the Spirit will develope when you abide in Jesus. [ John 15:1 - 10 ] The fruit of the Spirit will be made available for others to enjoy without you even noticing it. That is walking in the Spirit. They that walk by the Spirit are the sons of God. [ Romans 8:14 - 17 ] You cannot walk by the Spirit until you are born again. When you are born again, you should never be lonely.
