It contains light in a dark world, nourishment for your soul, and comfort for a broken heart. Here Paradise is restored, Heaven opened and the gates of hell disclosed. Christ is its grand subject, our good the design and the glory of God its end. It should fill the memory, rule the heart and guide the feet. Read it slowly, frequently, reverantly and prayerfully. It involves the highest responsibilty, will reward the greatest labor and will condemn all who trifle with its sacred contents.

I think it would be safe to say that there are as many guides in the world today as there are needs. Anything from a television viewer's guide, to the map on the shopping mall wall that tells you where you are. What it comes down to is direction.
We all need it to some degree. Some of us are blessed with a honed sense of direction, whereas many need a map to navigate across town. Regardless of who you are, sooner or later you will need guidance to get from point B to point C.
When sin created an impassable gulf between God and His own personal creation, a point of origin and destination were established. How can the gulf between sinners and a Holy God be reconciled? The promise of reconciliation was stated to the father and mother of humanity before being told to leave paradise. [ Genesis 3:15 ] And when the fullness of time arrived, the impassable gulf was bridged by a Holy God. [ Corinthians 5:17 - 21 ] Why would God do that? Because that's how He is. It is God's desire to share all things with mankind. In fact, He reaches out to an unlovely world everyday; calling all mankind to Himself. He causes the rain to fall on the just and the unjust. He shows no partiality in judgement and righteousness. He finds no pleasure in the death of the wicked. Every good and perfect gift is from above and comes down from the Father of lights. [ James 1:17 ] Think about this for a moment - God in perfect love has provided a place to spend eternity with Him as well as away from Him. When our spirit departs from this body, it returns to the one who gave it.[Ecclesiastes 12:7 ] The spirit of every son and daughter of Adam that has been merged with God's Spirit through regeneration [ Romans 8:9-17 ] will join the marriage supper of the Lamb. [ Revelation 19:6-9 ]
So; what does all of the above have in relation to Needing Guidance? Much in everyway. From Genesis to Malachi there are warning signs along the way telling us what happens when humanity tries to do things without regard to Divine Providence. They that heed the warning signs find themselves at the foot of the cross with the blood of Jesus Christ cleansng them of all sin. And by the blood of Christ we find access to the throne of grace. That's paradise!!!
Paradise is restored to the sinner that hears God's call, responds by turning from the road of ruin to walk in the light of the gospel of Jesus Christ. The will of God the Father is for all to be conformed to the image of His Son Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the perfect man. He is what God the Father intended us to be like. That will never happen until we decide to relinquish our right to ourselves. That is what is meant by being born again.
For that you need guidance. The Bible provides all the guidance you need to be reconciled to God.[Psalm 119:9-11,105; 2 Timothy 3:16 ] The Bible is divided into two main points - "the Old Testament" and "the New Testament"-"The Question" and "The Answer". The question is put forth by the Law and the Prophets -" the Old Testament".[ Genesis 3:15 ] The answer is Jesus Christ as put forth by "The New Testament".[ Galatians 4:4 ] Life is with God; Life with God was destroyed through sin; God destroyed sin in the flesh through the life of His Son; The life of the Son of God is formed in us through regeneration. They that have the Son have eternal life; they that reject the Son will never see life. [ John 3:36 ]
